ENRICHMENT CLASSES

Students will participate in tumbling, acrobatics and stunts on tumbling mats, balance beams, spring board, climbing and tumbling bolsters, and with balls of all sizes, ribbons, bean bags, hoops, rings, ropes, and a parachute. Through relats, obstacle courses, cooperative games, locomotion skills, and more, the students will enhance coordiation, balance, strength, flexibility, focus, endurance, eye-hand-foot dexterity, agility, aerobic capacity, rhythm, musicality, proprioception, partnering, teamwork and fun! Students will develop acrobatic skills tumbling on mats, learn how to safely use apparatus, equipment and props, and how to propel themselves with coordination, throughout solo and partner activities. Through Tumbling, Locomotor Challenges, Cooperative Games and more, participants will develop coordination, strength, agility, balance, endurance, dexterity, musicality, timing, and flow. Participants will move solo, with a partner and as a group and compose pieces in class. Age-appropriate and developmentally based activities. Performance optional

Choreograph and perform our own dances by learning dance moves, sequences and routines, through creative improvisation, and by exploring the Elements of Movement: time, space, shape, force. Draw inspiration by studying one or more forms of dance: Contemporary, Lyrical Dance, Hip Hop, Jazz, Five Rhythms, Contact, International Dance, and Dances of Universal Peace. Performance Optional

Bring stage and big screen magic to life in our own Musical Theater Production. A new and exciting production will be selected each session. When the curtain goes up, you’ll become the characters with lines, songs and lyrics, costumes, props with sets, staged moves, choreography, and more! Week by week you will feel your talent and confidence and talent grow and camaraderie strengthen. We will select four to seven scenes to retell the story we love so much with dancing, singing, acting and more! All grade and skill levels. Culminates in a Performance.

Join us to write, direct and perform our own unique creative story. Imagination and inspiration will bring our message and characters to life! Our vision will reveal itself weekly through improvisation exercises, creative drama and movement games. Together we will build our concepts and characters, story and dialogue, add stage movement, props, costumes and sets to bloom and complete our home-grown one-of-a-kind tale! Performance Optional

Animal Yoga engages a young perspective bringing spirited joy by embodying favorite poses. We will stretch and lengthen, balance and strengthen, lift and hold, release and breath deeply and rhythmically. Join us for a fulfilling experience to harmonize and organize. Skill and coordination grow weekly. Soon, centered leaders emerge, sharing their peace and inner glow. Mats provided.

New Games can be played with any number of people, with and without equipment, and in almost any size space! Yes, really messy!! Selecting from all the materials you could ever want in colors, shapes, sizes, textures, density, weight, even scent!! Follow your creative genius, paint, glue, cut, form, mold, mix and finally take home your collection of inner and outer visions.

Flow, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, Stillness. Cultures around the world share the language of movement. Emotion rides through the body this way too. Students will follow the inner journey of creative expression while moving to a wide variety of recorded music and live percussion instruments that supports non-verbal expressive communication. No standard to match or follow, just the bubbling spring of the rhythms that lead one to embody, liberate, free-up and empower oneself. It is playful and moving, valuable as a solo and collective experience, irresistible, rewarding and fun! Children naturally seek this rooted experience that heals personally and makes whole the collective. Instruments provided.

Each week a different whole face character will be studied and executed. Each child will have her/his own set of face paints and will develop skill in applying non toxic, washable, water-based paint to her/his own face. At the end of the session your child will take home their set of paints along with a booklet of the designs we completed, plus additional designs to continue the art form, skill, and creative journey at home. Materials provided.

We will complete 1- 3 pieces from the following: Finger Puppet, Sock, Felt or Crochet Hand Puppet, Javanese style Leather Puppet, or Large Paper Mache Puppet. Materials provided. Puppet Show Optional.

Food Art is a fusion of culinary exploration and artistic expression, where we’ll transform everyday ingredients into edible works of art! Students will explore their senses, learn valuable skills, and create edible masterpieces that leave both taste buds and imaginations craving more. From playful fruit skewers that resemble whimsical creatures to Spooktacular holiday treats! Join in and Embark on this creative culinary adventure! Food/Supplies provided.

Each week we will study an ice cream or iced/gelato recipe, tweaking it to re-make it worthy of our private label. The following week we’ll blend the ingredients, freeze in the ice cream maker, and celebrate our invention with a sampling party. Spoons held high, we will keep track of our successes with our own homemade recipe booklet. Food/Supplies provided.
